This is my second attempt at a doomed deck, but this time, I'm using Tactics instead of Leadership, as the ability to handle enemies early is more important for a doomed deck than having a lot of resources.
The main focus of this deck is putting damage on Gimli, as he is my tankiest Tactics hero. I can get healing effects in play, and use scrying and shadow effect cancellation to get psuedo-action advantage out of Gimli, as he doesn't exhaust to "defend" against defenderless attacks.
Once the Dead Marshes is finally available, this deck is going in the rubbish.
Strategy
Resource Acceleration + Card Draw
Use Grima to make cards cost less.
Slap Keys of Orthanc on whichever hero would benefit most: usually Grima.
Use Deep Knowledge and Ancient Mathom to draw cards. Since this deck reaches its maximum potential pretty fast, extra cards don't mean that much one you get Treebeard, a little bit of healing, and a questing ally in play.
Questing
Always quest with Eowyn, Grima, Greyflood Wanderer, and Isengard Messengers.
Always travel: this deck has no location control: location lock means death
Defending
Defend with Gimli (Captain of Gondor helps, and Protector of Lorien gives you damage control) until you get Treebeard in play, then the two of them can take turns being attacked.
Use Feint and the Wizardssssss Voice when you need Gimli for attacking.
Get Dark Knowledge on Gimli to take tons of defenderless attacks (Protip: don't get greedy with damage, always heal Gimli at the end of the round)
Attacking
Ents. Just ents.
Gimli (if he's ready)
Sideboard
Use Power of Of Orthanc in quests with nasty conditions.
Use Waters of the Nimrodel in quests with busted amounts of direct damage.
The rest are all just cards I'm testing in the deck
Booming Ent is here because I'm still not sure if the deck needs him: He synergizes nicely with the whole "eat damage" concept, but then the deck's attack is just overkill.
Ancient Mathom because I'm not sure the deck has enough card draw.
I would love to throw in Citadel Plate, Dwarven Axe, and Quick Strike to turn this into a Gimli deck, but I'm afraid it would get to diluted between doomed, ents, and Gimli.
A Test of Will: This is the big one. I don't like Test of Will because of its "I draw it I win, don't draw it I lose" nature: it feels cheap when I play it, and terrible when I lose because I can't draw it.
