It's such a shame that there are rarely any Dunedain decks posted here. Especially for solo players it's extremely difficult to play this deck archetype, because of the necessity to engage enemies (at least 2-3) to be able to get the Dunedain going. It's time for this tendency to change!

Here I'll try to explain what's the main idea of this deck:

  • Get that Sword that had been Broken two ages ago on Aragorn. This will boost everyone's willpower by 1. He'll also gain the Leadership resource icon, which will help you play more cards easily.

  • Get resources with Legacy of Numenor. Usually it's risky, but that's why Lore Aragorn and Gandalf are here. Heirs of Valandil will also help later to put the Dunedain on the board more easily.

  • Draw cards with Daeron's Runes and improve the options in your hand with the Dunedain Pipes.

  • Well, what do you know? The deck actually consists of 52 cards! Keep Ranger Summons in your hand and wait for the encounter deck to almost run out of cards. Then, summon all the Rangers of the North you can.

  • Feed Amarthiul with Dunedain Signals, Steeds, and Destriers. You can get the signals with the Weather Whiff Watchmen. You can elect one of the leadership heroes to be the Rune-master. Thus, making the signals basically cheaper.

That's all, I guess. In theory, it should work. Shouldn't it? :)

You could add the Fornost Bowman and Roheryn as a second condition to play it.

one of the best cards for dunedaindecks is "Descendants of Kings" u should use it. perhaps for the Feints.

@Alonewolf87One copy of Roheryn can be added, I agree. However, I'm not sure that adding the Fornost Bowman is worth it here, but maybe I'm wrong. @doomguard Yep, Descendants of Kings is definitely worth adding, at least two copies. Another card worth considering is Entangling Nets to make the enemies less menacing. For example, you can remove 3x Ranger Summons and 1x Feint, and instead add 2x Entangling Nets and 2x Descendants of Kings.

because of the lore aragorn u can exploit the doomed more. add 3 deep knowledge. the pipes are not this good in this deck without any other smoke, or pipe-cards.

@doomguardYou may have a good point there. I've just managed to beat Massing at Osgiliath. I had a pipe on Aragorn and although it was helpful, it was quite risky because I had no idea what's the next card and I didn't have more than 3-4 cards in hand. Deep Knowledge might be the way to go.

No Forest Snare ? You don't have to base the deck around it (like I did: ringsdb.com,) but it seemed a perfect way to get the most out of Amarthiúl and Halbarad

@GoggenIt won't be easy to pay for the Snares in this deck, but I agree that it will make both Amarthiul and Halbarad better. I'll throw a couple of these to try it out. Maybe if I manage to draw the Legacy of Numenor on time, it will work out. Thanks for the tip! :)

You definitely highlighted the two biggest weaknesses of this deck currently - early willpower and card draw. @doomguard and @Goggen also had great suggestions as well. I'm currently testing version 2.0 of the deck and I'll post it as soon as I'm done experimenting. Stay tuned! :)

Ranger of the north is a set aside card. Why is it counting in your deck? You don't fetch this card in your deck.

@RegisF You're right, it's not shuffled in the player's deck. However, it's still part of it indirectly. I could've probably added it as a sideboard card.
