Conflict at the carrock seemed a really difficult quest for me as a mostly true solo player, it felt so hard, to the point that I planned to never touch it again. But yesterday I got convinced to try it again with a deck specifically teched for it, and this was the result. I had two ideas to deal with the trolls, because I don't know how high my threat will get:
-
Engage them all at once when the threat is high enough and get Grimbeorn (objective ally) to defend them all and Éowyn powers up and enters the Hour of Wrath to kill them all.
-
If your threat stays low enough, you can just engage them one by one and defend with either Grimbeorn, Déorwine or Sam, when he got Ring Mail and Hobbit Cloak or just play Feint. Attack with Grimbeorn, Merry with a Dagger of Westernesse, Beorn and maybe Gandalf if there's no Unseen Strike nearby. And you can still power Eowyn if it's not enough for a troll. Another option to kill a troll is by not playing Beorn directly but instead Sneak Attack him and trigger his ability, with which you can still return him to hand anyway.
it ended up being option 2, with Grimbeorn as main defender. I managed to get Beorn with Send for Aid for lots of extra attack and so I always got the trolls down the turn I engaged them, without needing to scream "I am no man!".
The attachments go: Eowyn: DoW and GS; Merry: DoW, RM, HC; Sam: Sting, RM, HC, SoG
