Basic Strategy
Play on easy mode.
Mulligan for Forest Snare. Engage the Garrison that starts in the staging area and trap it on turn 2. Try to draw into your second Forest Snare and play it on another enemy.
Try to avoid location lock - you might lose a lot to this. You need to have a little luck here, but also make some smart plays. Radagast's Cunning and Secret Paths can help a ton when you're trying to make a big push to clear out a location.
Eventually all the encounter deck will be stuck under the trapped enemies as shadow cards due to the stage 1B effect. Then you can take your time and play out the rest of your deck. Favor of the Valar will be needed to stall for time, and can be recycled with Erebor Hammersmith, but be sure to save 1 copy for when you advance to stage 2 to avoid threating out from the quest effect.
As soon as you get to stage 2 you should be ready to deal 12+ damage to Thaurdir. The following turn, make a huge quest push with Faramir to victory.
Midgame Goal
Use Amarthiúl's tactics icon and resource generation to get out a Citadel Plate (or two) on Beravor, as well as Steward of Gondor and Self Preservation. Beravor will be able to survive a surprise undefended attack from Thaurdir, and the damage will heal off quickly. You can take many undefended attacks in one turn with a well-timed Lore of Imladris to clear away 10 points of damage all at once. I found this to be incredibly helpful.
Hi Seastan. Good day. Could you please help to share an improved version with coreset, the angmar awakening, the elf starter deck and gondor starter deck?
Hope we can only use the above mentioned card pool beat the carn dum after multiple attempts. Thanks.
