I had a ton of fun with Chad's Hobbit Pipe deck linked here, and I'll let him explain the general strategy, but it's an old deck and several great pipe cards have released since then.

I've been playing this deck as part of a 2-handed fellowship alongside a Dunedain deck (with some side quests) for the Angmar cycle, so this deck has some specific cards for that. While I haven't played it true solo, once this deck is set up it can definitely hold its own in solo (The Dunedain player was eliminated early in Deadman's Dike and Wastes of Eriador but I still won).

Characters

The heroes and allies are mostly unchanged from that deck, but I took a couple out to make room for some other new cards. One big ally that I added is Galadhrim Weaver (and by extension, finally building a deck that includes Island Amid Perils, which is cool). I use them to recur our most important cards like The Shirefolk, Smoke and Think, or A Test of Will.

Attachments

3X Spare Pipe was a perfect add - fetching those key events and getting us up to 6! pipes... I added Sword-thain for even more money. There's several good targets in this deck and makes Smoke Rings and Old Toby even better.

Events

The Shirefolk the most obvious addition here, the others have already been discussed. Unfortunately I still struggle to use Elevenses, even though that's what Chad's deck was originally created to use.

Angmar-specific tech

Frodo in general just stunts on this cycle - shrugging off weather effects and attacks during the engagement phase, which is why recurring our new threat reduction events is so important. I typically am not able to stay in secrecy for long...

3X The Long Defeat for all the side quests, and because we need more healing than just Old Toby. For the weather quests I include all 3 Tobies.

Will of the West and Double Back in the sideboard are for Deadman's Dike and other quests that discard cards and push your threat.

would modify a little bit:

i usually start with the ally Bilbo Baggins as Messenger of the King to start with a pipe that fasten up the build (and is 2 thread less with equal questing power). but if you do not wannt that, or if you do not want to replace Merry,, then i would include Thorongil to make Merry also his fighting-option Merry (not only +3 attack in this deck also refreshing after killing)

i usually do not play with The Long Defeat, but it is a good addition in multiplayer soecially if your mate has some sidequests in the deck or perhaps include Double Back and Gather Information

Deck looks great! Do you find there's enough card draw? There's a few different options in there, but Pippin looks to be the only repeatable one and I wouldn't want too many enemies engaging I don't think. What do you mulligan for?

@Marctimmins89 yeah the Hobbit Pipes are really the key to the card draw, the Spare Pipes help find the threat reducing events. And ideally Old Toby is drawing you 3 or more cards which is good value.

You aren't in secrecy very long so I find an early resourceful for Frodo is really important to mulligan for, or threat reduction so we can stay there. The majority of the time you should end up with at least one pipe as well, or Bilbo.
