WingfootRanger 2743

WingfootRanger has a newer deck inspired by this one: The Elven Sorceress V2

"Did you not say that you wished to see Elf-magic?"-Galadriel, The Fellowship of the Ring

For this deck I took inspiration from other recent Rossiel and Strider decks that I have seen. I felt it obvious that she went along well with Strider and secrecy, the question was just who her partner should be. Beravor was chosen because she provides much needed card draw and brings her own action advantage with Wingfoot. After that the rest of the deck fell into place. It wasn't an easy process, but I like the result. This deck can potentially win some quests solo, but is likely best paired with at least one other deck for quests that are tough in the beginning. Despite that, it was victorious against Across the Ettenmoors and The Temple of the Decieved and was absolutely fun during Escape from Mount Gram (not surprisingly), so the deck is far from weak or boring. It is able to quest, cancel important threats, and can build up to doing combat too.

First off, we would like to see Resourceful as soon as possible, and Wingfoot or Strider soon would be nice too. Heed the Dream and Beravor's own card draw will help us get all these pieces. I only use 2 each of Leave No Trace and None Return because that's normally as many of those I end up playing. Out of the Wild is what really powers up Rossiel and The Door is Closed!, because it gives you a much wider selection of encounter cards to choose from. I also use Henamarth Riversong in this deck since the scrying is helpful when using Wingfooot and Ithilien Lookout, who can end up providing a way to escape a nasty enemy on the top of the encounter deck.

In this new version I removed the Master of the Forge and added Gandalf to help with more card draw and the great stats he has and Treebeard who makes for a great defender or attacker while making it easier to pay for the ents. Heed the Dream has also replaced Daeron's Runes since it is handy for fetching particular cards we need at the time.

You can definitely alter the deck to suit your preferences. The sideboard I included has many decent options for switching it up. I like The Long Defeat, but A Burning Brand and Scroll of Isildur are great choices too, as are the different allies listed. Give Rossiel a chance, and she will cast her spell on the encounter deck.
