The Door is Closed!
Reviews

The strongest cancellation card in the game.

It cancels the entire card, ALL CARD TYPES, and discards it wholesale unlike A Test of Will which only cancels the When Revealed effect and can't cancel keywords like surge (not to mention Locations or Enemies being added to the staging area).

The only issue here is you have to build a deck around this card using additional cards like Out of the Wild, Leave No Trace, and None Return unlike A Test of Will.

I've found that Rossiel decks work really well even without this card, but this one really brings them up to a whole new level and provides an incentive for using Out of the Wild or Scout Ahead to get rid of Treacheries beyond just getting rid of a single copy. — maistrechat 119

Pros :

-can cancel Surge -can cancel Doomed -can cancel enemy -can cancel cards with ''this effect cannot be canceled''

Cons : Will trigger complaining players that don't like OP cards like Splorfindel.

Was there a ruling on your last 'pros' point? This seems interesting. Is it because of the 'and discard' clause? — bane 81
It's canceled. Know why? Because it's f&@$ing Galadriel, that's why. — Mad Morderan 136
More accurately, The Door is Closed cancels an entire encounter CARD, not just the effects of that card. If an encounter card stated, "This card cannot be canceled", then TDiC would not work, but to my knowledge no such encounter card exists. For further reference, see FAQ 1.9.11.53-4 for distinction between canceling an encounter card effect and canceling the whole card. — kjeld 664

An interesting cancellation card, which is very useful if you are playing a deck which can manipulate an encounter deck. Otherwise it may not be as useful as A Test of Will, which has no condition towards victory display. On the other hand, I played victory display manipulation decks and then this card is really useful and the good thing is, it cancels it all. Including Surge or Doomed. And I can run 3 copies unlike the two I have to run since I have just a single copy of the original coreset. But it requires a bit of work to set it up. Still very useful.
