Third version of my Bard the Bowman The Grey Wanderer deck. The original description is below, but I've since acquired several additional APs (I don't have a full collection) and have been able to strengthen the Eagle sub-theme with Meneldor, Eagle Emissary, and Wilyador.

Original Description (slightly edited)

This is my attempt at making a viable Great Yew Bow deck featuring Bard the Bowman and The Grey Wanderer. Grab Strider at the start and dig out Great Yew Bow as quickly as possible. Once Bard the Bowman has his bow and a weapon (or Support of the Eagles) he can snipe away at enemies in the staging area and draw more cards with Foe-hammer. It's never going to be the most powerful deck in the world, but it is fun to play :).

Allies

Eagles are the sub-theme of the deck, with the goal being to power up an Eagles of the Misty Mountains that can handle defense (or provide Support to Bard). Timely Aid helps get Eagles or other strong allies out early. Meneldor acts as location control and Wilyador can be brought out and sent under Eagles of the Misty Mountains time and time again.

Attachments

Nothing too fancy. Resourceful is great in the early game and everything else goes into boosting Bard the Bowman's attack power.

Events

Again, pretty straightforward. Daeron's Runes, [Foe-hammer]/card/131015), and The Eagles Are Coming! provide card draw. Quick Strike is for those enemies that manage to engage you.

i do not know if you have those cards, but they would be very usefull:

Open the Armory Flight of the Eagles

if including Gandalf (i think its not necessary) i would include some Sneak Attack

Also helpful would be boosters such as Bofur, Pippin, Beechbone, Westfold Lancer, Steward of Orthanc, Treebeard, or Ranger of Cardolan. You likely don't have access to all of them, but more willpower would be useful if you have a couple of these!

@doomguard Thanks for the feedback! I don't have Open the Armory, but I did give Flight of the Eagles some thought, and I might throw it in. If nothing else, it should add a bit of fun :).

The reason I didn't include Sneak Attack is that I would be limited to playing it during the planning phase unless I included Song of Kings or some other way of granting to Bard. I've considered doing that and throwing Steward of Gondor in as well, and that may make it into a future iteration of the deck.

@kjeld Thanks for the tip! Lack of is definitely the Achilles' heal of this deck, and so all of those allies would be useful. I had Bofur in a previous version, but subbed him out when I acquired Meneldor and Eagle Emissary. One other thing I've tossed around is swapping core Gandalf for OHaUH Gandalf to try and keep more around for longer.

At the present, the best solution I have is to play primarily battle and siege quests from Against the Shadow :).

Sneak Attack can only be played in the planning, but there it is worth it a Gandalf reduce thread, drws cards or snipe, that is independent of phase, also Meneldor hits twice if used with Sneak Attack . and great, you can play him afterwrds for a 3. use of his ability. so i found sneack in the planningphase ery usefull. you can also consider the Descendant of Thorondor he is also good with sneak.

`@doomguard That's a good point. I'm going to throw Sneak Attack in there and give it a go! Thanks!
