The worst part of any Rohan deck is not being able to use all the allies and tools I like. The best part A Perilous Voyage and getting to play them all (aside from in this case).
This deck is easily the best Rohan deck I've built. @seastan and the ALeP crew have done an outstanding job with Thengel. Speaking of Thengel, the deck works well because of him.
The basic idea is to discard a card every round and use Thengel's ability. Once you get Horn of the Mark in play you are also generating an extra card per round. Most of the allies can be discarded. I typically play the lower costing allies right away, like Escort from Edoras or The Riddermark's Finest, and use them to get a higher costing ally into play. The events include several discarding features too. With all the discarding happening it's best to get Gamling and Squire of the Mark ASAP. There are too many cool combos to count in this deck. Even with all the discarding the board state ends up being insane.
Éowyn: Good for that early game start. She really only needs Horn of the Mark and Windfola. You can substitute Éomer and Firefoot for quests which can do without the early game bonus or increased .
Théoden: can get most allies in turn one to begin the discarding. He'll get Snowmane, Herugrim, and a Light-footed Steed after Thengel gets his readying set up.
Thengel: he gets Unexpected Courage and Golden Shield he'll also get Light-footed Steed. If playing a quest where defending is more important you can add Round Shield or other attachments.
Feedback is welcome. Have fun!
Beautiful!
