Pirate Brahm 1074

Pirate Brahm has a newer deck inspired by this one: Snares of Numenor

( Imrahil, AKA "Timrahil" or simply "Tim")

This deck is all about flexibility and combat readiness, and among all of my decks, my favorite combat deck to play. Prince Imrahil's summoning ability means that you can get expensive allies to the table temporarily and use their abilities or sacrifice them for a single resource:

24 of the 29 allies in this deck can be summoned by Tim's ability, so whiffing should be a rare occurrence.

The addition of Hirgon to the hero lineup means that you can play the right ally from your hand at the right time, adding to the amount of options you'll have following questing.

Denethor is included to give the deck a jump start and pass resources over to Tim, activating Heir of Mardil as well as Visionary Leadership. Be sure to save one extra resource on Denethor for Déorwine's shadow cancellation if you need it.

Once you draw it, Steward of Gondor should go onto Tim, as well. In case of encounter cards that drain your resources, it's not a bad idea to wait to use Steward of Gondor during the action window after encounter cards are revealed, so you'll have money for Hirgon once questing is complete.

Since most of the allies in this deck are Warrior traited, Warrior Sword and Raiment of War are perfect additions to beef them up. Gondorian Shield makes sense on Tim and Denethor early on, though you'll probably find yourself questing with all of your heroes once you establish your board.

The Red Arrow, Celebrían's Stone, Visionary Leadership, The Arkenstone, Bofur, and Meneldor have been added to give the deck a little extra questing kick, since Hirgon relies on successful questing for his discount.

The Sneak Attacks can be used to repeatedly toss Gandalf onto the table, and are also handy for, well, even more flexibility.

I like! Imrahil is the hero I want to use as I love the idea of ally summoning for combat boosts. We're only going up to Ghost of Framsburg for cards, nothing in the last couple of packs that took your interest?

It's also nice to have a thematic reason for including Steward of Gondor :-D

Thanks! Yeah, nothing after Ghosts that grabbed me, so we'll have to see what Land of Shadow brings to the table.

Very cool! Tactics has such fun combos. It’s always a great feeling to see tough enemies come up and then pull a tricky card play to smash them. I’ve got to try this deck out.

Thanks, Melkata, hope you enjoy it.

Update: I just added two copies of A Very Good Tale and removed the Feints. Exhausting a summoned ally as part of the cost for AVGT is a fantastic way to get a couple more permanent allies onto the table, especially during an uneventful combat phase.

Switched to this deck to continue through the Angmar Awakened cycle. Started with the Wastes of Eriador.

When it came to dealing with Wargs - easy, even when I got mobbed, it handled them fine. I'm so used to having trouble with combat as I never played Tactics before that it's a welcome change to think "awww big huge pack leader.....get him Beorn". . .

It struggled with the high willpower requirement of the quest but Celebrían's Stone helped a bit, I probably was an idiot of cashing in The Red Arrow too early for its ally effect rather than just leaving it for the willpower buff, but once the Arkenstone came out, it was just plain sailing at that point, I'm actually considering putting in more than 1 copy in the deck for the massive buff it offers - killing a little doggy for the privilege was well worth it.

Very enjoyable, shame there's not many more warriors that I can experiment with for allies, but the deck got me through in the end.
