Introduction

Here's a fun deck based on Azain Silverbeard's ability to deal direct damage following an attack, and its counterpart, Gondorian Spearman's ability to deal direct damage at the beginning of his defense. The two abilities complement each other: an enemy whose life pool was depleted during the previous turn by Azain is finished off by Gondorian Spearman's agressive defense.

Strategy

• Azain Silverbeard is the Messenger of the King
• Mulligan for Dwarven Axe, Double Back, or a useful and thematic quest ally, such as Bofur
• Attach 2 x Dwarven Axe, Mighty Prowess and Boots from Erebor to Azain
• Attach Spear of the Citadel to Gondorian Spearman
• Attach Unexpected Courage to Azain Silverbeard and Aragorn
• Use threat reducer cards (Elrond's Counsel, Double Back, Galadriel's Handmaiden, or Gandalf) to stay low enough in threat to intentionally engage enemies one by one
• Trigger Azain's response, then Aragorn's response. Exhaust Unexpected Courage, declare Azain and Aragorn as attackers, and attack the newly engaged enemy. If you defeated that enemy, trigger Azain's response against another enemy remaining in the staging area, if applicable
• Heavy Stroke can amplify the Azain's response. It's very useful against ennemies with many hit points.

Adjustments

If the scenario is side-quests friendly, you can include Gather Information and Keep Watch to your deck.

If the scenario got not much ennemies, feel free to switch Proud Hunters with Wait no Longer.
