This deck is part of a two-deck Fellowship used to play Journey in the Dark for the Cardboard of the Rings Quest of the Week.
The Fellowship description contains details of the quest playthrough and campaign mode information.
This quest recreates the Fellowship's journey through the dangers of the Dwarf realm of Khazad-dûm. The most famous of these is of course Durin's Bane himself - the Balrog. Much of the strategy of this quest is about how this near unbeatable enemy will be handled.
As a campaign deck, the hero choices were largely already made. For this quest Aragorn, Gandalf and Glorfindel combine powers to form a combat dominating machine. The idea is that this deck should be able to handle almost all the combat and by the end be in a position to take down the Balrog in short order, although that will need someone (Hint, hint) to put their life on the line.
One of the purposes of the deck is to try and speed up Stage 2 by featuring effects that bring enemies into play - Dúnedain Hunter and Guarded objectives Durin's Axe and Sting. This way I won't be unduly delayed by an unlucky encounter draw.
