Based on https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/40240/revisedgondor-1.0.

I used it SOLO during the Dreamchaser Campaign with very good results (1st or 2nd try to beat every Scenario).

Strategies/Synergies:

Denethor: His 2 initial resources are very useful to start the game with a better setup. Also, I play Steward of Gondor on him because he is the one to send resources to other heroes. I normally gear him with Gondorian Shield to be my main first defender.

Boromir: This is the core hero. I equip him with Visionary Leadership and try to have always 1 resource with him to buff Gondor characters with +1 and the Allies with +1 . You can also gear him with things like Captain of Gondor, Heir of Mardil, Valiant Sword or Gondorian Shield.

Prince Imrahil: His skill is very useful for some close combats in the first rounds, where you need an extra defender to sacrifice or an extra attacker to end an Enemy. I have also been using his skill to try to draw a Soldier of Gondor to search for more allies from the deck (as one of this deck weakness is drawing cards). He is more flexible, and normally I use him as Quester or Attacker/Defender (depending on what I used Boromir for). You may equip it with Captain of Gondor, Heir of Mardil, The Red Arrow or Valiant Sword.

This deck is very strong, with allies swarm you are able to beat any enemy or any quest in any scenario. But you have to prepare it to overcome the two weaknesses it has:

  • Initial Willpower and Drawing Cards Engine.

For the willpower, the main card you need is Visionary Leadership on Boromir. Other things that help with this are Faramir or Ingold. At some point during the Scenario, if you already have Faramir you can even skip the Visionary Leadership, but the optimal thing is to have both in play.

To improve the Drawing Cards Engine. These are the cards you need : Foe-hammer, Sneak Attack + Gandalf , Valiant Sacrifice or Rod of the Steward (At some point you will have enough money to use it properly). Soldier of Gondor is also a key card for this, specially when having 40+ . Also note that in the Dreamchaser campaign I use the Dawn Start ship, which helps a lot with its "Draw one additional card during resource phase". A Very Good Tale also speeds up my board readiness.

Other Notes:

  • Mulligan for Steward of Gondor + a Drawing card. This is the best start you need.
  • It is a good combo to gear Defender of Rammas with Raiment of War. It is one of the best defender characters per price that I have found.
  • Use Soldier of Dol Amroth to pay less for cards. The other option is to use Master Ironsmith , but then you only can use weapon/armor on Heroes, and then it has to be Prince Imrahil ...
  • Use Denethor + Heir of Mardil to have a solid way to prepare Boromir/Prince Imrahil each round.
  • Need Drives Them is a very good final round card, do not forget to include one or two in the deck.
  • Control your using Gandalf. This is way I included 3 copies, it is a very useful card on this deck.
  • Finally you can use Gather Information in some scenarios. This may reduce slightly the number of copies of other cards (Senescal, Visionary Leadership, Gandalf, Faramir).
  • I have used Honour Guard in some scenarios where I need some damage reduction, but they are not capable of doing great things either.

I hope you like it.
