This deck is part of a two-deck Fellowship used to play Fog on the Barrow-downs for the Cardboard of the Rings Quest of the Week.
The Fellowship description contains details of the quest playthrough and campaign mode information.
The most notable feature of the Fog on the Barrow-downs quest is probably ally-hating effects, especially the punishment you face if you find yourself trapped inside a Great-barrow, something that will happen at least once in the quest. There are also some Barrow-wight enemies with unpleasant effects for those engaged with them.
As a campaign deck, the hero choices were largely already made. For this quest I returned to a hero lineup of Círdan the Shipwright, Fatty Bolger and Sam Gamgee.
The partner to this deck uses the Forth, The Three Hunters! contract to avoid suffering at many of the effects of this quest. For this deck, the approach is few, impactful allies, with enough other effects to at least get by without ally support. These include Entangling Nets to limit harm from enemies, defensive attachments like Hobbit Cloak, threat reduction like The Galadhrim's Greeting to avoid forced engagements, and Stand and Fight to return discarded allies in an emergency.
Since we are using a select number of powerful allies, the Fellowship contract has been included. The chance of flipping the contract is fairly low, although if this deck can avoid the Great Barrows it stands a chance.
If I do end up at Stage 4, hopefully it won't be for too long thanks to Círdan and Sam's combined 7 . Ideally Treebeard will also be in play and an enemy engaged so he can stay around to help progress.
