Grandson of Gror 1

Grandson of Gror has a newer deck inspired by this one: Alliance of the Three Rivers

A different way to conceptualize the North: the peoples of the Forest, Redwater, and Celduin Rivers.

That is a pretty nonsensical way of saying that I wanted to run a Dale deck with Legolas. His dad comes along to defend at the start of the game and play a few Silvan allies for good measure. Silvan Tracker is useful to heal Thranduil if necessary.

The deck is pretty thematic: only the men of Dale and Mirkwood elves traveling and drinking Dorwinion wine together. (Galadriel flits in and out of dreams - sorry, in and out of play - guiding you to attachments. I am calling that thematic.) You could make it a more powerful deck with cards like Steward of Gondor.

If you feel like you need threat reduction, go with Gandalf instead of Galadriel. I like her to use with Sneak Attack to quest early in the game and to find attachments to play. If you need condition removal, go with Elrond.

I like the theme :) But I'm going to have to ruin your day and tell you that Galadriel does not get to search for attachments with Sneak Attack or A Very Good Tale :( That ability only triggers when you play her from your hand.

@glorphilipp

Well, snickerdoodles. Thanks for the heads up. I thought Sneak Attack+Galadriel still got the play from your hand effect because the text is almost identical: "Put 1 ally card into play from your hand" + "After you play Galadriel from your hand."

Gandalf + Sneak Attack will have to do. (Unless I got that wrong too.)

Yeah unfortunately to "put a card into play" does not count as playing that card. But in both cases the card enters play, so Sneak Attack + Gandalf's Search or Elrond works.

I meant Gandalf not Gandalf's Search ^^'
