Three Legends
One: the most powerful hero from the core set. Another: the most beautiful woman in the world. The last: Tom Bombadil, wearing The One Ring, and mocking everyone else for being corrupted by its power. This is part of my Lore and Larceny Fellowship, and is designed to be played alongside the more thievery-inclined friends. Check out that fellowship for a more complete description of how these decks play alongside each other. In short: direct damage, direct progress, and guarded attachments. That's what we're all about here.
Opening Hand
The One Ring goes on Tom Bombadil and during setup you fetch your only Master card: Well Preserved. In your opening hand, look for card draw, especially Master of the Forge and/or Gléowine.
Timing Tom's Songs
Given that this fellowship is designed around direct damage, the best way to use Tom's response is to play song attachments during planning, but keep all your song events for when enemies are engaged so that you can use them to deal direct damage. If an enemy is down to 4 health or less, you can defeat them before they can make an attack by playing one song event during the encounter phase, and another during the combat phase.
