The offensive deck in my current dwarf fellowship. Dwarf Pipe is a really fun card and helps you keep cards you want while still reaping the benefits of a mining deck.

The main goal is to use the multiple discard effects to generate you free resources, attachments, and allies. I tried using Raiment of War in this deck and I personally did not like it. If you don't have a warrior in play (none of your heroes have the trait so you'd have to draw into one) it instantly becomes the worst card in your hand. If you have Imladris Stargazer, Zigil Miner, or both in your hand, that's a pretty good start, as they can set up a lot of plays for you.

The deck is pretty fun, and I've enjoyed a two sphere dwarf deck that isn't mostly focused on swarming (that is reserved for the deck's counterpart). Just today I turned to this deck to defeat The Morgul Vale alongside it's partner and it performed admirably. There were quite a few high moments, including wiping Alcaron with a single Erebor Battle Master equipped with a Raiment of War. If you enjoy Dwarven decks, please take this one for a spin and tell me what you think or suggest improvements below. Thank you!

Dwarven mining decks have become one of my favorite archetypes to play, and I have been wanting to refine mine to work the Dwarf Pipe. You have done a nice job here!

Two questions. Is the title a reference to Thomas the Train!?! Second, I know he's not a dwarf, but would it help to have Bilbo Baggins, to fetch that Pipe for you?

@DazeMan thank you! If you give it a try let me know what you think. I have certainly come to appreciate tactics more since building this. It's a lot of fun to annihilate enemies with one Erebor Battle Master or Azain Silverbeard.

@Marsh the reference is more towards the Blue Mountains in Middle Earth, near the Grey Havens, where the Dwarves of Erebor resided until retaking the Lonely Mountain. As to your second question, if you would like to experiment with Bilbo Baggins to find Dwarf Pipe more quickly, it would definitely work. I will say however that the beauty of the deck is tailored more to the actual mining/deck mill effect itself, and is not dependent on the attachment to work. If you see something you really don't want to lose, the pipe can clearly recycle it, but I have as yet to go through my entire deck in one play through. I don't know if that is a testament to the quests I've taken it against or the deck itself, but because of that I did not feel the need to include cards that actively seeking the pipes, as they're more of a failsafe rather than an engine. If you disagree, please try it and let me know! Testing always beats paper crafting.

@D4rkWolf10 I'll give this one a try for sure. The one I am working on is seeking to highlight Dwarf Pipe by being able to recycle Hidden Cache and using cards that shuffle your deck to heighten your odds of seeing it again.

@DazeMan that'd be pretty interesting. Are you sticking with the same spheres? If not, it seems like you could get use out of To me! O my kinsfolk! if you had a Leadership splash. I have never tried using that card but if you're planning to reshuffle your draw deck often you could very likely see those allies more than once!

@DazeMan I do like that list, is it intended to be a solo deck? If so I wonder if you'd have better results playing Dain Ironfoot instead of Nori and running copies of Narvi's Belt to play on Thorin, thereby having access to all 4 spheres. You would open up your pool of available Dwarf allies more, which could further fuel your mining strategy (Ered Nimrais Prospector is a card that comes to mind for me as one that I could have included in this deck but didn't due to the resource constraint). Additionally I just find his global attack and willpower buff so necessary for Dwarves, especially for a solo deck I would think. Your thoughts?

@D4rkWolf10 No doubt Dain makes the deck better. I was trying to make a deck that utilized Thorin a little bit. Trying to make him the King Under the Mountain he was meant to be. However, I think I am going to go back to Dain and sub out Thorin. I will probably splash in a Ered Nimrais Prospector and see how it runs. I should have it ready soon. I was really excited about the Dwarf Pipe and trying to make a deck that uses it well, so thanks for the pointers.

@DazeMan I don't think you necessarily need to swap them out. Seems to me they could coexist peacefully together (they are cousins after all!) Thorin Oakenshield could definitely get all your attachments and resources to represent his position as the true King Under the Mountain. If it was me I'd swap him for Nori, and I think personally you'd do fine. Your starting threat would be pretty manageable and barring some sort of awful encounter flip with a bunch of doomed or threat adding shadow effects I would think you would swarm the encounter deck in most cases before you would threat out. Just give Thorin Oakenshield a Narvi's Belt, Steward of Gondor, King Under the Mountain, and you're set. Access to all spheres, 4 resources a turn, and fun all around!
