Jan 17, 2024Interesting idea! I'm uncertain how defending would look without Frodo, and I believe the consistency of finding multiple The Shirefolk has more of an impact than it might seem, but I'll give your version a test and report back. Thanks! |
Jan 17, 2024looking forward for your report :) i have a more pipe fokused deck but withut To the Sea, to the Sea! would be interesting to hear something about having both. (if interested here: ringsdb.com ) and if The Last Alliance gives more advantage. |
i am not sure, that using the contract is the best way. using (MotK) Bilbo Baggins and start with a pipe seems better to me.
the mainbenefit is, that the Red Book of Westmarch can be used for noldor and hobbit, but i think the book is more a gimmick than really core of the strategy, because it is only playable after discard and using Reforged that might be realised in the lategame or do i miss something? o.k. The Shirefolk is another thing, but starting with 3 thread less perhaps the 3 Elrond's Counsel are enough.
the discount, that the contract gives can be equalised (if using (MotK) Bilbo Baggins and starting with a pipe) using Smoke and Think and you are not this limited regarding your allies (e.g. could include Galadriel's Handmaiden Rhovanion Outrider...) would include 1-2 Spare Pipe if going that way.
