in prefer starting with Dáin Ironfoot and give him the leadershipability with Thorongil

then you have

• 2 spiritres from the start, so can pay fpr Zigil Miner
• powerdefense (up to 6 dragons and trolls come!!!) from the start

would discard for 3 Thorongil:

• 2 Flame of Anor
• 1 We Are Not Idle

then add a Imladris Stargazer and 3. Unexpected Courage (Dáin Ironfoot and gandalf can never have enough axctions) for 2 Erebor Guard

then depending ob testing, i would reduce Dori (with possible 6 defense not this much needed, and green only playable with gandalf from the top) and 1 Narya , 1 staff or pipe perhaps 1 King Under the Mountain to add some Dwarven Tomb (not only good for Will of the West you can get A Test of Will back or a spirit-ally, Unexpected Courage.....

perhaps add a Hardy Leadership

consider some Miruvor, they have more use with mining:

• play cost 1
• use it for res or readying and put back on the deck, you now know the top 2 cards of your deck
• use Zigil Miner

only sad part of this kind of deck is, that Gandalf is used so not this much multiplayer-able. else it can handla almost everything where you keep your deck.

Thorongil is not in revised edition, that's maybe why whispers goes for Dáin Ironfoot.

I agree with Erebor Guard, it's a pretty bad card, Unexpected Courage and some others options are maybe better, even in mining decks.

I like this good old Erebor Guard in mining deck, but you re right, i may be add 1 Unexpected Courage and sup 1 copi of Erebor Guard

if using only rev. then i would keep 3 Erebor Guard because with "only" 3 defense, dain will not defend everything
