A 'problem-solver' deck that uses Gimli to deal high damage, and Denethor to block or absorb.
Beravor draws the attachment cards to gear up the other two heroes.
Use Protector of Lórien to discard unneeded attachments.
Use Feint, Quick Strike, and Stand Together to manage the numerous enemies you will be engaging until Gimli can whipe them out.

I ran this deck for Journey Along the Anduin for the first time last night and it worked great for us too. I think your suggestion is a good one and I'll be trying it out. Despite the game taking 2.5 hrs (we had a rough start) we never found a use for Stand Together. Feint and Forest Snare filled the role of defending the Hill Troll just fine. Gondorian Spearman would be a good addition. It is a solid blocking card which will help this deck fulfill its purpose of clearing enemies. |
My brother and I used a deck like this against Journey along the Anduin ~15 times. Stand Together is secretly horrible because it's a short-term solution to a long-term problem. I would remove it for 3x Gondorian Spearman, although that's my brother's favorite ally.
