"For morning came, morning and a wind from the sea; and the darkness was removed, and the hosts of Mordor wailed, and terror took them, and they fled, and died, and the hoofs of wrath rode over them. And then all the host of Rohan burst into song, and they sang as they slew, for the joy of battle was on them, and the sound of their singing that was fair and terrible came even to the City."
-The Ride of the Rohirrim-
This is my Rohan Forth, The Three Hunters! deck. I always wanted to make a strong Rohan deck but always struggled with the Allies. The attachments are kind of Rohan's strong point anyway so I decided to take advantage of that. I've played this deck a lot and think at this point I have it pretty well ironed out. As it is, the deck is tuned more for a multiplayer setting but in general it works fine in solo as well. One of the big advantages of the contract is that it provides healing, which Rohan in general lacks, and which Erkenbrand specifically needs. The contract typically flips after the 3rd or 4th turn, though I've had it flip after 2 in some cases.
Opening Hand:
I'm typically looking for 3-4 restricted attachments and some card draw in my opening hand. The two most critical cards for the deck are Armored Destrier and Snowmane so I would prioritize finding those two. After that the goal is to get the contract to flip so you can start healing.
Attachments:
Here are the ideal attachments. Exceptions are often made to flip the contract but these are the ones I typically choose:
Eowyn:
- Silver Circlet
- Celebrían's Stone
- Windfola
- Eowyn quests for 12 before her ability. You can substitute Steed of Imladris for any of those but I would typically discard it to make room for one of the above.
Erkenbrand:
- 2x Armored Destrier
- Ancestral Armor
- Gondorian Shield
- Dúnedain Warning
- Erkenbrand defends for 5+ two or three times with built in shadow cancellation.
Theoden:
- Snowmane
- Herugrim
- Rohan Warhorse
- War Axe
- Theoden quests for 6, attacks once for 12 and another time for 6. He usually gets the first Golden Belt and with his stats, he has fairly good flexibility on what you stick on him. A second Rohan Warhorse, Tireless Thoroughbred, or Armored Destrier are all good options.
Other Cards:
- Onward Into Battle can either go on Theoden if he doesn't have Snowmane yet, or on Erkenbrand so he can quest after the contract flips.
- Hour of Wrath is just too fun in multiplayer and is easy enough to pay for late-game.
- Need Brooks No Delay usually grabs a mount. This card was key in getting this deck to work well.
- Open the Armory is great for finding Herugrim or making sure there is a weapon in play for Foe-hammer
- Depending on what you need for the quest, Power of Orthanc can be swapped out for the sideboard cards.
Future Updates:
- As soon as I get the 3rd repackaged saga expansion (I know, I'll still be waiting a while), The Gondorian Shields will be swapped out for Golden Shields.
Have fun! Hope you like it!

May 26, 2023you have 5 different unique each 2 times in the deck. i would say get 1 double is very likely. |
May 26, 2023Between Éowyn and Steed of Imladris, Elven-light seems like it would be good. |
