The1Ringer 50
I wanted to do three things with this deck: 1) use Burglar's Turn because it feels thematically appropriate that dwarves would be searching for their lost relics (and maybe find some others along the way), 2) use Spirit Dain because I'm tired of every dwarf deck using Leadership Dain, and 3) beat Ruins of Belegost solo. Turns out it did all three extremely well.
By the end, Ring of Barahir gave Spirit Dain +6 hp from all the artifacts I loaded him up with, but it didn't matter because Dain's six defense from his ability plus the Mithril Shirt made him able to just straight up tank Naurlhug without chumping anyone. The irony of course is this deck would be perfect for chumping since you recycle everything back through the deck anyway. You'll be absolutely awash in resources and cards thanks to Ori, Thorin, Hidden Cache, Narvi's Belt, Necklace of Girion, and/or Steward of Gondor (retrieved with Without My Hat), and your swarm of dwarves just keeps growing thanks to recycling A Very Good Tale. I was surprised I didn't even feel the need for Legacy of Durin or King Under the Mountain, which are normally dwarven staples. Also your resource generation never feels wasted because you get to use Erebor Record Keeper and Longbeard Map-Maker's abilities a ton if you just keep dumping your resources onto Ori.
I could certainly trim it down to 50 cards but the mining churns through the deck so quickly I didn't feel it at all. Just be sure and keep a Will of the West for when you run out of deck entirely.
Also it was really fun to get to use dwarves that you never see like Soldier of Erebor, who is really great in this deck for attacking, defending, and using A Very Good Tale. I used him plus a Ered Nimrais Prospector to get two Longbeard Elder out AND a Hidden Cache. When you hit jackpots like that it just feels awesome.
By the end I used a Lure of Moria to ready over 20 dwarves and then killed Naurlhug with a single massed attack. Didn't even need the sword of belegost because Ori was dual-wielding Orcrist and Glamdring.
Mulligan for the cheapest allies, especially Imladris Stargazer so you can know what you'll be mining. Once you get to five dwarves and hit a cache or two, this deck snowballs HARD.
EDIT: As doomguard suggested, Thorongil is probably the better card to go for with Without My Hat. And Lay of the NauglamÃr is a good suggestion too, but I find the deck has plenty of mining as is so I don't know that it would make a huge difference.

Feb 04, 2023Can't believe I didn't think of Thorongil. You're definitely right about that, and there are so many other ways of getting resources Steward is really only helpful very early on. |
Feb 05, 2023You need to include Bilbo Baggins .. is the top burglar !!! |

Thorongil gives a huge kick perhaps even better than Steward of Gondor for Without My Hat and you remain intheme
beause you are playin with Alep-cards, consider Lay of the NauglamÃr its:
