my goal is to make a deck with the heroes i do like the least of all but to make it a solid playable deck.

this is my conclusion:

why i do not like the heroes:

(MotK) Firyal and Na'asiyah because in the tolkienlore harad and corsairs are "evil" folks. firyal has additional dislike, because, using her as Motk feels in truie solo a bit like cheating. nessi has additional dislike, because i rate her flaw (cannot pay for allies) higher than her positive aspect of her ability. Fastred because without Inner Strength i give him the price of the most useless hero at all (or say better, the best replacable hero of all, everything he does other can better). his mainproblem, as one of the few heroes with defense of 3 he die to a str 6 attack. so he needs efford to become a maindefender. the only other hero with def 3 and 3 hitpoints id denethor, who has a far better ability and lower startingthread. if he only has 1 hp or defense more, he would be much, much better.

so challenge accepted ^^

  • the deck lacks ressoursegeneration, so every card cost 2 or less (except Treebeard but you can replace him if u want)
  • no tacticallies, she cannot pay for them
  • cheap allies that can generate willpower => outlands
  • some weapon and armor, she can pay for that :D
  • make a bad hero to a (very) good hero => Inner Strength on Fastred
  • carddraw with Deep Knowledge and Foe-hammer
  • nessi go up to high attack with belt and 3 weapons or 2 weapons and Firefoot

You have also Amarthiúl and Tom Cotton in the 3/3 range.

And "most useless hero at all" is a bold statement when you have Fatty Bolger in the same sphere :)

i like atty. for mono-hobbit mono-spirit he is great. e.g. a pipe-deck.

Amarthiúl right, but he has very good ability, and in ld there are many attachements to increase defense, in spirit, none for fastred (except Inner Strength and with it, he is good)

tom cotton, has also a good ability and is tactic and hobbit. there are much more options.

its my opinion and i stay to it, feel free to have a different.

Fastred is unique. There is no other hero in the game that can do what he does (push enemies back into the staging area). If you play him as a regular defender, then sure, there is little point in taking him over Beregond. And sure, he is a little fragile for a defender, but since there are plenty ways to change that, he can still be worthwhile.

I'm surprised not to see Glorfindel, Pippin, or Fatty Bolger. Those guys are not well-loved.

ilove hobbits and secrecy and mobo spirit, so, i have enough spots for them.

lorefindel i have used in campain. usually th spiritversion, but in 1-2 szenarios, where lore and healing from the start was good, changed to him. fatred i never used. the "use" of putting enemys back in the staging is very limited. you ahe to put much efford into it, that its worth something. usually you do not want enemys go back into the staging. and the rare dunhere Éomer situations where it is usefull, it is better the enemy remain in the staging and not to be engaged n the first place. in addition, the real big enemys, he do not surive to send them back. btw. this unique is his ability not: Mablung A Light in the Dark Guardian of Ithilien Ithilien Archer Pippin

all these heroes are so much more usefull.

yes usefullnes of lorefindel is nearby, and i would put him next to him, but to te benefit, having more flexibility in campaign, he has an enormus themeful benefit: he is an original tolkiencharacter. fastred was only "made" and so cornercase that for me, he is the most expandable character.

@doomguard, actually Fastred was an original character of Tolkien's, though to be fair he was only mentioned by name (if I recall correctly) in the Song of the Mounds of Mundburg.
