There are two primary ways you can build an Ent deck. The first, which I think is more popular, is to start with low threat and give yourself time to build up. Ents are slow. The other option is to ready as many characters as quickly and as reliably as possible.
I was attracted to building an Ent deck with the idea of action advantage in mind, and there are two cards that let you do this pretty consistently: Narya and Faramir. Narya can either be played on Gandalf (who is the traditional enty boi), or Cirdan. The neat thing about Cirdan is that he has innate card draw, 2 less threat than Gandalf, and dedicated access to a sphere. isn't typically Ent-friendly, but it is friendly to threat reduction and action advantage in the form of Unexpected Courage, Light of Valinor, and Elrond's Counsel.
Also, I just want Faramir to be good.
How to Play: Steward of Gondor onto Elrond asap, who can then play all the Ents in the deck. This is done by Captain's Wisdom, which isn't ideal, but oh well; or by an Envoy of Pelargir (paid for by C and E, give the 2nd leadership resource to F and you're in business); or by A Good Harvest.
The rest of the cards are pretty self-explanatory. Mulligan hard for Steward and Narya, and the rest should fall into place. The earlier you see Treebeard, the better. If you don't need healing, swap out Warden of Healing with Elrond's Counsel. Errand-rider is a great resource-smoothing chump, as you quickly run out of things to do with resources
I've tested this against Into the Pit, Escape From Umbar, and Wastes of Eriador, and I was successful on all counts, but you need Favor of the Valar. If you think a quest will test your threat too heavily, swap out Elrond for Pippin and more threat reduction. (I'd take out Captain's Wisdom in that case, too).

Apr 01, 2022It's a fair criticism, I suppose, although it held up real well against Massing at Osgiliath, which is another really tough round 1 quest. |
Apr 01, 2022Actually got a win against the Hill Troll. Definitely need everything to go your way, though! |
Apr 01, 202236 threat on round one is a tough road to hoe but when things start falling into place, look out! |
like the idea. like the deck but think it has its weaknesses against e.g. anduin.
or how do u want to deal a troll 1. round? for everything else than 1.round aggression it is a good deck, but anduin or anduin nightmare are very standart.
