Mulligan for Need Brooks No Delay, Riddermark Knight, Snowmane, Horn of the Mark, and Escort from Edoras. It's great to turn up Gamling, Háma, Théodwyn, or Gúthwinë with Need Brooks No Delay. Don't be afraid of discarding allies. Use Thengel's ability every round!
Golden Shield and Unexpected Courage go on Thengel. Théoden gets Snowmane and Light-footed Steed.
You can buy Escort from Edoras for 1 coin, quest with him and discard him, draw a card with Horn of the Mark, use Thengel's ability to grab another ally, and then return Escort from Edoras to your hand with Gamling.
The same combo is great with Riddermark Knight and Morwen Steelsheen (putting her into play with Westfold Horse-breeder, getting another ally with Thengel, then use Gamling to return her to your hand).
