Master of Lore 943
In his early drafts of Lord of the Rings, the philologist J.R.R. Tolkien called the Haradrim the "Silharrows" and the "Harwan", deriving their name from the Old English name for Ethiopians — Sigelwaran with "sigel" meaning "sun" or "jewel". It is this same Old English word from which the Silmarils (the sun-jewel) also received their name in Tolkien's lore.
This deck, the Sigelwaran, includes all of the characters of Sunharrowland produced for the game, thematically coupled with the Ranger Aragorn (who travelled South 'where the stars are strange') and Na'asiyah (who joins the company after the events of the previous cycle), carrying their various jewels and jewelry under the sun.
In the early game, we will need to Tighten Our Belts and look for Firyal and either Kahliel's Headdress or the Sword that was Broken to make progress on the quest while collecting attachments from the Master of the Forge and other card draw effects.
When everything is up and running, Firyal and Aragorn lead the quest push by avoiding the worst encounter cards and guaranteeing a ready Ranger with Wingfoot, if Kahliel can gain the support of both Steward of Gondor and Heir of Mardil, then he quests too and readies afterwards. These three can contribute 14 willpower together and keep things moving along!
Defense is handled by Jubayr, Aragorn with A Burning Brand and Kahliel with Gondorian Shield. Attacks come from Yazan and Na'asiyah, who looks great and is fun to play with a Warrior Sword, a few resources, and a Magic Ring.
Draw cards like crazy to build up your board and don't worry about threat early in the game. Then use Aragorn to drop back down to 30 once things get to hot. I used this deck to good effect against the back half of the Haradrim cycle, though I did use Easy Mode. After all, the Sigelwaran are all about thematic fun in the sun!

Feb 20, 2022This is a really creative deck. Nice mesh of traits that aren't usually bundled together. |
Feb 22, 2022Very cool idea and combination of cards. You could consider adding Proud Hunters for more resource generation for Na'asiyah |
Feb 24, 2022It’s great to see you posting decks again, sir. I hope you are well. |
Looks like a lot of fun. I've been looking for ways to incorporate Na'asiyah, so seeing her on the home page is great. Also, I love learning the word histories, so thanks for sharing this!
