This is the deck I used to defeat Ambush at Erelas, the video can be found here: https://youtu.be/lIo1cMDw1GM
Shellin created the first version of this deck and used it during playtesting. I modified it after losing a couple of times to the quest. His deck was an excellent deck, but this quest put some demands on it that I had to address to get a win. Mainly, I dropped duplicates of unique allies and replaced them with Guardian of Ithilien and Ranger Bow. I also included Strider's Path to help with location lock and avoid the Travel effects. I also dropped Forest Snare and replaced with Deep Knowledge. This quest is one where you want to kill the enemies, so snaring them is not too helpful.
This trap deck is so much fun to play. Celador and Damrod work so well together and keep your deck moving. It is very common to have 0 threat in staging due to cards subtracting threat, like Followed and combined with an Emyn Arnen Ranger you can quest no problem.
I found defense to be the trickiest part of the deck, so mulligan for a Deeping Defender or Defender of Rammas. He had Feint, but I like to have a defender in play vs a one-time event. That is also why I included the Guardian of Ithilien and Ranger Bow. I hoped I could deal out some direct damage while my threat was low to avoid the looting keyword.
Happy Questing
