This is a Hobbit deck. -Captain Obvious
The point of this deck is to enjoy playing the game with a lot of the different Hobbit allies and heroes. Your starting threat is 26, which is awesome for four heroes.
Simply put, this is a fun deck. If you want a more powerful deck there are lots of cards you could drop and add in. But that is not the point here. The point is to just play hobbits and experience some of the new cards from the ALEP team.
I have beat Journey along the Anduin, Treachery of Rhudaur, and The Oath with this. I know it would do fine in a multiplayer game.
During testing of this deck I have found it never plays the same way.
You might get Lily Cotton early and perhaps bounce Odo Proudfoot in and out of play, or Bilbo Baggins once to get both of your Hobbit Pipes.
You might get the Horn-call of Buckland and Tom Cotton can handle defense easily with the help of Rosie Cotton.
You will almost always have a decent hobbit army in play so cards like Hail of Stones and Elevenses really can do some work.
I found that keeping my threat low is not hard if you can use Merry's ability. Gaffer Gamgee can trigger that way and you should be able to keep enemies in check.
Bonus points if you get the entire Cotton Family in play at the same time.
Take this up against a quest on the easier side if you want to play solo, but don't be afraid to show up at a multiplayer game with this deck, it will do just fine.
Happy Questing.

Jul 27, 2021Super deck! Well done, sir! Took it on a few runs and it surprised me with it's hidden versatility! Go Hobbits! |

Jul 28, 2021if thorongil is only a filler, i would take Boots from Erebor. a hp on tom can do much. or for more flexible use Keen as Lances |
Jul 28, 2021btw, u have a non-sphere card to much. (12 contract count so 11 in the deck) |

Jul 28, 2021Oh shoot! You are right. I thought I remembered the contracts being part of your total number of cards in the deck. It's weird that it counts it when you look at the spheres in the draw deck, but it doesn't count it when taking into account the total number of cards. |
Jul 28, 2021yea that contract-counting is somehow weird.... count as card, but not part of the deck... in the ringsdb statistic you have 12 neutral cards, but in your deck its 11 |
Sep 05, 2021Have you noticed the amazing synergy between Lily Cotton, Sam Gamgee, Tom Cotton and Frodo Baggins? With Frodo, Sam plays for free; with Tom Cotton, he gets +2 the round he enters play. So he can quest for 2, and then get readied by LIly, at which point he will attack for 4, leave play... and then can do it again the next round, for free. Basically he's attacking for 4 every round. (5 on rounds you raise your threat & spend a spirit resource.) If you happen to get Thorongil on Merry, then Merry could attack with him and ready him for another +4 attack. Damn. |
Sep 05, 2021Oops, my mistake, Sam Gamgee isn't free with Frodo, he still costs one. Still a good interaction, but more of an occasional thing than an every round thing. On another topic: did you consider trying to work in Tighten Our Belts? Would help start things off. |
Love the deck name!
