Uruk-guy 548

Uruk-guy has a newer deck inspired by this one: The Solo Scout

The second version of trying to get Aragorn in a Scout deck outside of a contract. While it is no tier 1 deck it is certainly fun to play! Again, this is more of a support deck, as any pure Scout deck is, and thrives in multiplayer. This version sees a few hero changes to get under 30 starting threat and also increases card draw (and consistency) a TON.

So, the biggest problem with Aragron is keeping him readied a few times per round. Legolas completely synergizes with this from the get-go. With him in play you can quest each round with all heroes and kep aragorn readied going into the quest phase. The basic idea is to beef up Aragorn with as much as possible. Ideally, he has at least 6. In this particular deck he can have up to 10 if Scouting Party is played.

Aragorn

He should have at least 6 . His tools should consist of Unexpected Courage, Necklace of Girion, Stone of Elostirion, Ring of Barahir and Mithril Shirt. In most cases he's going to get Silver Circlet but can also benefit from Silver Harp if Legolas needs the other restricted slot. He could get an extra ready with Leather Boots. #desperate defender can help him take one big attack with a counterattack or take two attacks defending for 5 once. The dude seriously stays ready the entire round... Need drives him after-all. Our goal is 8 , 3, 9 and a sphere.

Legolas

First and foremost he readies Aragorn which his ability works perfect for. His tools are probably obvious with Light of Valinor, Mirkwood Long-knife, and Unexpected Courage. We hope to get him to 4 and 4 making him an excellent quester and attacker. Note, he may end up getting a a Silver Harp until the Elven-light can be used every round. The can always be replaced for a knife later.

Haleth

She is absolutely amazing in this deck. She gets you an attachment every round which this deck thrives on. Right from the start you're getting 2 cards per round without all of the other card draw. You can give her Leather Boots, Map of Rhovanion, and Warden of Arnor as well.

Allies

Mirkwood Explorer is our progress engine and can benefit from Leather Boots to both gain a resource and use his action in the same round. Rhovanion Outrider doesn't need an explanation. North Realm Lookout can stay ready with a Map of Rhovanion. Dunedain Pathfinder synergizes by bringing in locations and he is free. Forest Road Traveler is usually buffed due to the number of location attachments - a decent defender in some cases but a better quester. Firyal and SĂșlien are put into play with Elf-stone. Sulien isn't a staple and could be subbed. Switch up the sideboard according to the quest. I really wanted to do the Rider of Rohan and a side quest combo but it just didn't fit.

Shenanigans

This deck can draw somewhere around an average of four extra cards per turn and has the potential for more.

The guarded artifacts not only boost Aragorn's HP but two are location only attachments which completely synergies with the archetype.

Mirkwood Explorer and North Realm Lookout can benefit from eligible attachments. Mirkwood Explorer can get a major bonus with Leather Boots.

One last point is threat reduction. Thorongil is typically used for Loragorn. Three cost for an attachment which is searchable is often a better payoff lategame than multiple The Galadhrim's Greeting which get you a standard 6 each. Still, since this is mainly a multiplayer deck we add one for the team. With that being said, if Aragron needs more readying for whatever reason you can always grab Coragorn.

How about a couple of The Hidden Way?

@Alonewolf87 I've never used that card but it looks like it would work very well here. I'll give it a try!

I also like Hasty Stroke and a third Scouting Party. Seems like 2 resources for plus 6-12 WP is really strong...

I had been interested in a scout deck, and this seems good!

@ira212 thanks - and I agree. When you put it like that it seems silly to even consider only having two.

this deck might be better as 3 hunters. get the attachements cheaper and faster.

i would add miruvor and lembas, helps eeping aragorn ready in the early rounds.

@doomguardvery good suggestions - thank you. I was going to mention in the description you can use Three Hunter's for this, but you'd loose out on (MotK) Haleth and some real good allies. But I still think its an idea worth testing out sometime

right u can only have 1 contract. with 2 allowed contracts that would be interesting i think.
