A stealthy Kahliel Grey-Wanderer deck, made for the May 2020 Solo League on the FFG Community forums. (Selected scenarios: Long Arm of Mordor, The Mumakil, The Black Serpent.)
You want to get your big Harad allies out quickly - the contract's resource acceleration and cards like Timely Aid will help. Song of Travel allows Silver Circlet/Unexpected Courage to buff our hero a bit.
Errand Rider and Envoy were primarily for LAoM, as help transfer the objective-hero's resources (which are useless after stage 2) to Kahliel. They also chump pretty well.
I thought of the idea as a way to cheese the LAoM mechanic where you have to save your heroes - whether it will hold up against the Black Serpent or the Mumakil I don't know!

May 06, 2020The Grey Wanderer makes your first non-unique card played each planning phase not require a resource match, which means you can play Silver Circlet and Unexpected Courage without Song of Travel! replacement for the 1-cost attachment would depend on your collection, you can easily browse through your option using the site's card search tool. that is a very nice deck and a clever (as well as thematic) design! |
May 15, 2020Silver Circlet needs to go on a spirit hero, so the combo with Song of Travel is still required. |
May 16, 2020I did look at other 1-cost combos in my collection but I couldn't see anything that appealing. Like, I think Horn of Gondor was probably the other thing I considered. Song of Travel is indeed required for Silver Circlet; but that is literally all it does so it isn't exactly an inspired choice - it is basically just replicating a poor man's Strider at twice the faff! As someone else mentioned, if I could cut out some fluff and stick in Test of Will/some other handy spirit stuff then it might be more worth it I'll have to revisit it when I've increased my collection - it's playing pretty well even as it is, so could be quite powerful when optimised. |
Edit - many of you are probably wondering why no Strider or Captain's Wisdom. The simple answer is I don't own that cycle yet! If I had them they would be no-brainers.
