"That's a lot of cards for only having one purple hero," they said*. They were right. But it is a perfectly reasonable amount of purple cards for three heroes.
Heroes
In the opener, I mentioned three purple heroes. Those are, of course, Faramir, Círdan, and (MotK) Ceorl. This deck runs alongside another deck rocking Messenger of the King.
To take advantage of the extra stats from Fellowship, we want good action economy. That means built-in ready effects. Legolas can ready (MotK) Faramir, who can ready one of the allies who can't ready him- or herself. Círdan equipped with Narya can ready any allies that are still exhausted. Círdan himself receives the Light of Valinor from the supporting deck.
Allies
Again, action economy is the key here. Gotta use all of them bonus stats. Thalion, Treebeard, Wiglaf and Gimli can all ready themselves, and Angbor the Fearless doesn't exhaust to quest if you're valorous (not that I anticipate that happening with the supporting deck reducing your threat, but hey, accidents happen).
But the real treat is that Fellowship doesn't just buff unique characters. The supporting deck has all sorts of non-unique allies to hand off for those juicy stat increases. Once Thalion is a hero, Ranger Summons can actually be played, eventually popping out a Ranger of the North for you to grab and buff.
Combat
If you stack Ancestral Armor, Armor of Erebor, Arwen's buff, and Narya's buff on Gimli, he can block for either player for 8 (if Fellowship is up and running). Heck, even Summon's Kili can block for 7 with sentinel at that point. With the whole team online, you should have a mob of mooks to attack with.
*Nobody actually said that, it was just a good opener.
I would really like to see a play thorugh with this fellowship, geting allies from left to right. Mabye sideboard sword-thain on Gimli to avoid him deing discarded when quest hav allies cannot defend effects.
