"Waste of a good apple." -Sam
We all know the story about Sam chucking an apple and hitting Bill Ferny in the head. This deck is a parody of that moment, using Hobbits and apples verses a Balrog.
This deck is meant to be used against Shadow and Flame. The goal is to keep your threat at 0 using Frodo Baggins's Response. As long as you have 0 Durin's Bane cannot attack you.
Being in never-ending secrecy is fun. You get to play all those secrecy allies and Timely Aid and Resourcefuls.
This deck is full of low cost, wimpy allies. Each armed with an apple in both hands! When the time is right play a Hail of Apples to knock the Balrog down, then during Refresh hit him again. You should be able to reduce his hitpoints to 0 and then watch him fall into the Dark Pit.
If you want to see this deck in action, check out this video: https://youtu.be/2FADGeKaz0s

Jan 09, 2020What about adding in grim resolve so you can chuck two hails of apples in a single turn? |

Jan 10, 2020The video was fun to watch. I have not played this quest yet (still on Return to Mirkwood), but I will definitely try out this deck when I get there. I play 2-player solo, so this will be something different for me for sure. |
