Wandalf the Gizzard 2562
These three heroes don't look like much on paper, but they've always made for a killer combo. This is my take on the standard build.
The deck plays fairly simply. Mulligan for Fast Hitch. Quest with Glorfindel and Frodo, defend with Frodo, and leave Aragorn in reserve to kill along with Glorfindel once he has Light of Valinor. It really can't handle enemies until it gets going with a couple Peace and Thoughts, so a partner combat deck helps. However, once you get set up and have Light of Valinor out on Glorf, you can almost take two encounter cards per round by yourself.
The deck is wonderfully scrappy, too. Cancellation, Henamarth Riversong, Miruvor, and nigh infinite threat reduction go a long way, and the deck is still quite thematic. Especially when you play Flight to the Ford.
Enjoy!

Dec 24, 2018I got to play several games with this deck and had a great time and beat nearly everything I tried with it. Nice work! lotrdecktest.wordpress.com |

Feb 03, 2022I don't own Frodo Baggins and Glorfindel :-( |
Jul 06, 2023I don't understand why this has Gandalf it can't afford to play and no Healing at all. |
Jul 09, 2023With Frodo Baggins and such high-hit point heroes, you don't need healing. Also, you can use your extra resources to buy Gandalf. |
Such a classic. I dig the Gandalf build as well, especially with all this draw.
