Fair and Perilous

Olorin+1 293

Description

`Perilous indeed,' said Aragorn, 'fair and perilous; but only evil need fear it, or those who bring some evil with them. Follow me! '

Tribal thematic Silvan decks.

Kill enemies before they can attack with Haldir (either in SA or engaged with the other deck). Pick the ones with worse shadow cards shoved by Lamp. Weapons go primarily on Haldir. LoV on Celeborn. Beregon is a thematic outcast needed for the decks to work.

She lifted up her hand and from the ring that she wore there issued a great light that illuminated her alone and left all else dark. She stood before Frodo seeming now tall beyond measurement, and beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful.

I like your fellowship. I assume that Celeborn serves as a backup defender with Light of Valinor, just in case. Beregond is rock solid, but he can defend only once per turn -- I don't see a way for the leadership deck to cheat Naith Guide into action.

Lots of great thematic Silvans and their effects should be useful except for the two Naith allies. I've never liked Defender of the Naith much, but it'd be a really solid backup defender if it had a copy of Raiment of War. The only Silvan I like you don't have is Mirkwood Runner, but he (she?) doesn't really work in this deck.

One interesting thing about the fellowship is Nenya in the Lore/Tactics deck. I presume that you get it quicker with Peace, and Thought than with Galadriel and her mirror? Between the mirror and Protector of Lórien (I presume those go on Beregond and Celeborn?), I think Silver Harp would be useful and still thematic.

I think these decks would be a lot better if light of valinor was subbed out for unexpected courage. It would also make them more multiplayer friendly.

I agree Unexpected Courage would be much better, since it can be used on Beregond and Galadriel, but Light of Valinor is way more thematic.

Are fellowships sometimes used in a multiplayer setting with other decks? I've been assuming that anything posted as a fellowship is meant to be played with those decks alone, so no worries about unique conflicts.

Thanks :)

Yes, him with LoV and Defender of the Naith are secondary defenders, equipped by Cloak and Protector. In emergency chump block.

I actually like Naith guide. Questing without exhaust is good on Celeborn while LoV is not yet on the table or on Haldir (2 WP is not that bad). And the ally herself quests for 2 and attacks for 2 in first round she enters play. Not bad for 2 resources. Or 1 with O Lorien. Defender: in first round he enters play he has 3 def. Quite good. Equipped with cloak 3-4 def., also good. And with Tracker on the table he heals himself every round. Not the best defender. But not the worst ;)

I would not say quicker ;). I choose the Lore/tactics deck because there was more decks space ale Lore resources were sometimes unused. So adding neutral card was ideal.

Harp: you are right. Maybe 2 pieces instead of 1 LoV and Island Amid Perils. But I generally use Galadriels ability nearly every round and do not have card shortage.

BTW while building and tweaking I used to have a version with tacticks Beregond and Spirit Legolas. Also interesting.

Thanks for the comment ;)

I'm sorry, I was confusing Naith Guide with Greenwood Archer, when I made that comment. Though that's just in the context of readying Beregond for a second defense, Greenwood Archer's ability is quite good in this deck if Galadriel already has Nenya.

Courage: LoV is more thematic and I like that (putting Beregond aside ;) ). And it´s cheaper. So there are more resources left for allies. And it does what I want. Allowing Celeborn to defend/attack after quest. But feel free to swap it. It would allow you to use Galadriel for her AND Nenya's ability. Which is good. It is always tough balancing between theme and power ;).

Greenwood archer: exactly, for Galadriel with ring. Or if it is played by Elf-stone during the Quest phase.

@dalestephensonThey can be, as long as there are four players or less. I meant if in a three or four player game, and two of the players were using these.
