Galadantien 14

One of a personal collection of decks I’ve built both physically and digitally striving to make the most powerful but still thematic combinations I could with my entire card pool – primarily tested for two player (or two handed) matches.

Starting Hand (Mulligan For): Nenya is less important here than most Silvan decks because you’re built for combat. Galadriel offers more utility therefore in giving you an extra card each turn, and cutting back on your high starting threat. Instead look for cards to build your swarm quickly. The staples are really Tree People, Minstrel and Weaver. O’Lorien is a good thing early as well. A Very Good Tale is especially powerful here, because Galadriel’s ability means the allies exhausted can also quest, if you time it right.

Resource Gen & Card Draw: Your four different spheres cease to be an issue in the combat phase thanks to Thranduil, giving you the easy choice to play any ally round 1, if you wish. Galadriel is your card draw utility, and due to the way Silvan’s recyle themselves, I’ve never struggled with running out of cards here.

Questing: Your quest contributions can be respectable here with many of the allies, but generally speaking this deck is poor at questing as you don’t want to be questing any of your heroes when you don’t have to. If enemies are low, quest Haldir. Wingfoot is there to ready him if an enemy is revealed.

Combat: This deck is a ranged powerhouse, ideal in a 3-4 player game where two others can balance the fellowship’s capabilities, while you can be relied on to knock out enemies they engage. Thranduil gives you a solid defender when you need one, better with Cloak of Lorien, and Feint and Feigned Voices mean rarely will you need to chump block with your poor quest oriented allies. Getting your archer allies out with Thranduil’s ability in the combat phase is ideal as their abilities weaken the enemy, and you won’t have needed them to quest earlier.

Partners (Fellowships): As stated above.
